We have tried to explain clearly what information we use, why we use it and what choices you have.

Who We Are

Unknown Bikes EU (unknownbikes.eu) is operated by Unknown Group s.r.o., Na Kuthence 831/5, 160 00 Prague 6, Czech Republic, Company ID (IČO) 04327896, VAT ID CZ04327896. We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at info(@) unknownbikes.eu.

Information We Collect

• Order and contact details: your name, email address, phone number if you provide it, billing and shipping address, the products you order and your order history.
• Payment information: the payment method you choose and details of the transaction. Card details are entered in Shopify’s checkout and handled by the payment provider. We do not receive your full card number.
• Customer account: if you create an account, your account details and saved addresses.
• Customer service: messages you send us by email, contact form or live chat, and information about returns, withdrawals and warranty claims.
• Marketing preferences: whether you have subscribed to our newsletter or other marketing messages.
• Device and usage information: for example your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view and how you interact with our website, collected through cookies and similar technologies.

Why We Use It

• To process, deliver and support your order, including returns, refunds and warranty claims. This is necessary to perform our contract with you.
• To meet our legal obligations, for example under tax, accounting and consumer law.
• To run, protect and improve our website and to prevent fraud. This is based on our legitimate interests.
• To send newsletters and marketing messages, based on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
• To measure how our website is used and to show relevant advertising, based on your consent where the law requires it.

Shopify and Service Providers

Our store runs on Shopify, which hosts our website and processes order, customer and checkout data on our behalf. We also use other service providers for specific tasks. Services that currently run on our website include:

• Shopify – online store platform, checkout and Shop Pay
• Google (Google Analytics and Google Ads tags) – website analytics and advertising measurement
• Omnisend and Mailchimp – email marketing and sign-up forms
• Tidio – live chat
• Recart – marketing tools
• Other apps that provide website features, such as product galleries, an Instagram feed and pricing tools, which may receive technical data such as your IP address

These providers process personal data in line with their own terms and privacy policies.

Payments

The available payment methods are shown at checkout. When you pay, your payment information is processed by Shopify and/or the payment provider you choose, such as PayPal or Klarna. These providers may also process your data for their own purposes, for example fraud prevention or, depending on the payment option, a credit assessment, under their own privacy policies.

Shipping and Order Fulfilment

We share your name, delivery address and, where needed, your email address or phone number with the carrier delivering your order, so that they can deliver it and keep you informed.

Marketing

If you sign up for our newsletter or other marketing messages, we use your contact details to send them. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email or by contacting us.

Cookies and Analytics

We and our service providers use cookies and similar technologies. Some are necessary for the store and checkout to work, for example to keep items in your cart. Others are used for analytics, marketing and advertising, for example by Google and our email marketing providers. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; if you block necessary cookies, parts of the store may not work.

How Long Information Is Kept

We keep order and invoice data for as long as Czech tax and accounting law requires. Other information is kept only as long as needed for the purposes described above, for example for as long as you have a customer account or until you unsubscribe from marketing, and for any additional period needed to deal with claims.

Your Privacy Rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you
• have inaccurate data corrected
• have your data erased, where the legal conditions are met
• restrict or object to certain processing, including processing based on our legitimate interests
• receive your data in a portable format, where applicable
• withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting processing that took place before

To exercise your rights, email us at info(@) unknownbikes.eu. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority, in the Czech Republic the Office for Personal Data Protection (Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů, uoou.gov.cz), or the authority in the country where you live.

International Data Processing

Some of our service providers, including Shopify and Google, may process personal data outside the European Economic Area, for example in Canada or the United States. Where this happens, the transfer relies on safeguards recognised under the GDPR that these providers use, such as adequacy decisions (including the EU–US Data Privacy Framework) or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available on this page.
