How to Choose an Unknown Fixed Gear Bike

Frame and fork

LV3, Singularity, Bass-X and Paradigm use 6066-T6 aluminium frames, PS1 a 6061-T6 aluminium frame and SC-1 a 4130 chromoly steel frame. LV3 and Bass-X have full 12K carbon forks; Singularity, PS1 and Paradigm use carbon forks with an aluminium steerer.

Fixed or single speed

Every Unknown complete bike has a flip-flop rear hub: ride fixed with the 17T cog, or turn the wheel around and use the included single-speed freewheel (16T on LV3, Singularity and Bass-X).

Every current Unknown complete bike has a flip-flop rear hub and comes with a single-speed freewheel in the box. One side of the hub carries a fixed cog and the other takes the freewheel, so you choose how the bike rides: remove the rear wheel, turn it round and re-tension the chain.

On the freewheel side you ride single speed: one gear, no derailleur, and you can stop pedalling and coast. On the fixed side the pedals turn whenever the rear wheel turns, which gives you direct control of your speed through the pedals. Every complete bike comes with front and rear brakes fitted.

The range covers six models. The LV3, Singularity, Bass-X and Paradigm use 6066-T6 aluminium frames, the PS1 a 6061-T6 aluminium pursuit-style frame and the SC-1 a 4130 chromoly steel frame. Our bicycles arrive approximately 90% pre-assembled, with free pedals and foot straps included. We recommend professional assembly by a qualified bicycle shop.
